Founded in 1932, Marsh Power Tools is Detroit's leading distributor of portable power tools, woodworking machinery, and accessories.
Our company began as a magneto repair business on Grand River Avenue in Detroit. It was founded by Richard Marsh, who gave his name to the company. For our first 40 years, we were primarily a service facility.
In 1973, Ralph Pedersen, formerly a Stanley Power Tool factory representative, purchased the business. He changed our focus to power tool sales and led us into rapid growth as a bustling state-of-the-art wholesale/retail sales and service entity.
In July of 1985, following Ralph's early passing, brothers Ron and Chris Pedersen and brother-in-law Brady Kalem assumed control. In 1987, they added woodworking machinery to our product line, although service remained and still is the most important aspect of Marsh Power Tools.
Today, we're in our third generation, and that experience shows. Our shops are locally and family owned.

Our Livonia store has one of the largest showrooms in Metro Detroit. We've just finished renovating our new showroom and have even more machines and tools on display than we've had for the past 25 years. Our sales personnel are readily available and eager to answer your questions in person or over the phone.
Service is still an essential part of Marsh Power Tools, and we have three full-time factory-trained repair technicians in our Livonia shop and one outside service man. We've earned multiple awards from our manufacturers, and we provide service you can trust.
